Meet the staff

Hello, in Addiewell nursery your child is supported by a dedicated group of staff. We all share a sense of humour and want the very best for all children in our care. All staff work tremendously hard to keep up date with learning to expand their knowledge in lots of different areas and share our interests and new found knowledge with others where children benefit from their dedication.

Let us introduce them to you….

Mrs Eileen Brown. She is our Head Teacher and all staff think she is amazing. She visits the nursery regularly and knows all children’s names and if they have any siblings she knows their names too! Her dad has a few cows and one has just given birth and they’ve names the calf Lucky as he was their to support the cow in the delivery.

Miss Taylor Ann Kelly is our ELC Area Manager. She looks after four other nurseries in the local area. She has a Cockerpoo dog called Copper. He was named from the Disney film “Fox and the Hound.”

Ms Jackie Murphy is our Equity and Excellence Leader (EEL) Early Year’s Officer (EYO). She supports children and staff by reducing barriers to learning. She has a dog called Cali – a cross between a French Bulldog and a Chihuahua. Both the dog and owner love going for walks and it’s hard to decide which one is ‘madder.’

Mrs Flora Sharkey is our EYO. She works along side Mrs Jackie Murphy where she supports children and staff. She has recently moved here from another local nursery to be closer to home. If anyone knows her they will know that she lives in Addiewell too. What she enjoys doing and tries very hard to do daily, is going to the gym to relax as she runs her 5km before stretching.

Ms Debbie James is a practitioner along side three other practitioners in our nursery. Most of you will know her as she has worked in Addiewell nursery for over twenty years! What she enjoys doing is playing at her local ‘burn’ with her nephews and nieces having a great time -even in cold weather.

Miss Abbie MacMillan is also a practitioner and has worked in our nursery since her student days – so not too long ago. She enjoys walking with her family going up and down hills and mountains on dry days – she says she likes to be warm.

Miss Lisa MacLachlan has worked in Addiewell for a few years now as previously she worked in Edinburgh as a practitioner. She enjoys travelling everywhere she can and is looking forward as we all are to exploring even further afield.

Mrs Tracey Haggart has just started in our nursery, though some of you may recognise her face as she has been here working as supply. She is super excited to be joining our team. She enjoys eating out whenever she can so don’t be surprised if you see her around a local eatery.

Mrs Cherie Thomson only recently started in our nursery however she has just moved down the road from her last place of work. She support children and loves working here. She enjoys lots of different things but loves to keep fit by cycling around our local roads in West Lothian. She is also attending college to complete her HND in Childhood Studies. We wish her well on completing this course.
