Welcome back, I hope you all have had a lovely break.
Just a little reminder of some of our upcoming dates:
-Tomorrow the children can come to the school dressed in their pyjamas.
-Friday the 26th of January is our Assembly.
-Thursday the 8th of February from 6 pm until 7.30 pm will be our Burns Show.
I just want to let parents also know that there will be no reading books being sent home over the next few weeks, but I may send home some additional reading as homework to do based on our current topic, which is Burns. This week I have asked the children to concentrate on practicing their words for the show and for their assembly.
Below are the words for some of the songs which the children have been learning so far in class. Please can you encourage your child to practice these words.
Ye banks and braes o’ bonnie Doon
How ye can bloom so fresh and fair
How can ye chant ye little birds
And I sae weary fu’ o’ care
Ye’ll break my heart ye warbling birds
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorn
Ye mind me o’ departed joys
Departed never to return
Oft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon
To see the rose and woodbine twine
And ilka bird sang o’ its love
And fondly sae did I o’ mine
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree
But my false lover stole my rose
But ah! She left the thorn wi’ me
As always, if you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to come and speak to me 🙂
Many Thanks.
Miss Hanlon.
