CREATIVITY IN THE SNOW ANYONE?

Have a go at making an igloo? With help from adults you can make snow bricks and a great den. How will you decorate the interior?

The Scandinavians have long dark winters but try to create warmth with candles, blankets etc What is Danish hygge?

Check out images of Harbin in China and their amazing snow and ice sculpture event for 3-D ideas.

Go to new places to enjoy the snow and the views. Take some pictures of wintry trees and then use these as an art inspiration. Victoria Crowe is an artist who has done just that. Google her.

What can you make with icicles? What can you make with powdery snow or another kind of snow.

Il neige. It is snowing in French. How many other languages can you say that in? The winner wins an ice-cream. Try making a fun-flavoured ice-cream outside!

If you can get on skis and sledges and swish through The White Stuff!

Winter Ready Homework: Primary 2 and Primary 3

Please find attached the P2 and P3 Burns Poems for our Annual Burns Competition. The pupils can select one of the poems for the competition. As part of their reading homework this week the pupils should learn as much of the poem that is appropriate for them (they do not need to read the whole poem). They should be able to read the poem without using the sheet and use expression. We will hold a mini Burns Competition in class on Friday 13th January. The winning pupils from both P2 and P3 classes will go through to the school Burns Competition on 20th January and their parents will be invited along.

P3/2 and P3 Homework ….It’s Purple Mash Time!

On Monday 11th January, log into your Purple Mash account (remember your username and passwords are in your homework jotters). Click on the Home tab, then select the ‘My 2dos’ tab. Please play the ‘Bubble Bond’ game. Start at challenge A….how far can you go?
