The Buzzards had a fantastic time at Loch Insh. Working as a team, they encouraged and supported their friends trying the activities and are now professional skiers and canoeists! We thoroughly enjoyed singing the smurf song during our trip…especially Miss Burton! Well done troops, I thoroughly enjoyed my week away with you all.
This week the infants came to visit our amazing new nursery. The nursery children were excited to see old and new friends and happily gave tours round the new building.  Some even joined in the dancing, including the staff! Thank you to everyone who came to visit us and we look forward to the rest of the school visiting next week.
Today Mrs Diamond said goodbye to her nursery children. She received beautiful gifts from the children and their parents, conveying their thoughts and feelings at this sad time. The children sang goodbye songs and told Mrs Diamond they would miss her. We wish you all the best in your new school.
At the smart board, the children watched their video footage made using the GoPro. Watching and listening carefully the children took turns to discuss and share their learning experiences with each other. It was good looking back at what we have been doing in the nursery and will continue to explore how we can use various technologies to enhance our learning through play.
Even though it was the first day of Spring, the nursery children had great fun playing and exploring the snow. They made snowmen, slushes, pretended to be snow ploughs and all this was filmed by our GoPro team! They even filmed themselves giving an update on the new nursery. By lunch time the snow had cleared so the boys and girls asked to have bubbly water, pretending it was snow and burst into Christmas songs!  The children were very excited to wear their new waterproof suits.
Today we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in the nursery. We had shamrock toast for breakfast, created our own pots of gold at the end of the rainbow then participated in some Irish dancing. The dancing had some tricky maneuvers, but we felt healthy afterwards.
This week, the nursery children visited the P1 and P2/1 classes to share what they had observed and learned during the construction of the new nursery building. They confidently used the GoPro to film their visit, explaining which materials were used, what held the bricks together and why the pipes were under the ground. The P1 and P2/1 children exchanged their knowledge, showing us their Architect drawings and building area. Thank you for letting us visit your class to share our learning.
Today the nursery visited the ‘cinema’. We were given our numbered ticket and had to find the corresponding seat number. Once the film started we were given a token to collect popcorn from the foyer. Our choices were salted or sweet. Then we had our drink while watching the film. What a great way to spend our last day. Charlotte said, “it was the best film ever!”
