Today I thought I would share with you some ideas for your at home sports day. I had great fun doing one with my family at the end of last week and here is a little video of us taking part.
The activities we did are explained in the file linked below.
This week my story for you is ‘The Girl and the Dinosaur’. It is my last story for you and I chose it as a reminder of what your very first topic in P3 was. Doesn’t that seem a long time ago now!
Here are some files which will help you complete your tasks:
And below are the follow on activities you can do. Try to do at least two over the week. This week your handwriting task links to the book, so make sure you complete that task as well.

First a highlight from my past week: Father’s day was great. The girls got me a special takeaway platter of cheeses and cold meats, along with a drink. They also gave me some lovely handmade cards. We went on a lovely walk, although we did get rained on a few times. I can’t believe that after all the exploring I have done in the last few months that I am still discovering new places around the town.
Remember, I would love to hear about your highlights too.
Please, check out the school website for the P3 resources for home learning this week. Again there is an emphasis on health and well-being and we would like you to design your own at home sports day!
As it is the last week of term, spelling this week is a revision of the last four rules.
There is a new Sumdog competition that the class has been entered into for the week.
Check out my post about this weeks story ‘The Girl and the Dinosaur’. It’s my last one! During the week let us know how you are getting on by emailing myself and Miss Ross.
Thank you to those of you who have sent myself and Miss Ross an email this week. I hope you have a fabulous weekend. One of next weeks tasks is to make up your own at home sports day. I wonder what you will come up with. I’m going to have a go too.
Here’s a little game that my daughters like to play sometimes. It’s great fun for all the family and you may want to have a go. It’s called ‘Stop the Bus’. Each person needs to make a sheet like the one below. One person chooses a letter and then think of an item for each category as quickly as you can. When somebody has something for every category shout ‘Stop the Bus’ and everyone has to put their pens down. You can give children an extra 30 seconds after an adult has called stop the bus.
You score 10 points for any unique answers and 5 if someone else has your answer. You can play as many rounds as you want. If you want play with different categories. At home, the Brice’s have even played it with family in England over Zoom. Have fun!
First a highlight from my past week: I’ve been continuing with my running and last week I beat my personal best on distance. I managed to run 20km in one run/jog. I had very sore legs the next day! I have also made a sign out of some of the materials I had from last years Gala day when Sofia was a Flower Girl. I’ve made it rainbow colours. I hope you like it.
Remember, I would love to hear about your highlights too.
For the next two weeks, we will be focusing a lot more on Health and Well-being. That means on keeping our bodies healthy and active, on eating a balanced diet, on talking about how to keep safe, and on talking about different feelings and how we cope with them.
Please, check out the school website for the P3 resources for home learning this week.
Tomorrow is a school holiday because of the Linlithgow Marches. I won’t be setting a spelling hunt. However, I might take Sofia and Charlotte on a hunt for the Perambulation Stones and you may wish to during the week too. Especially, as we are having our Health and Wellbeing Fortnight.
The stones mark the boundary of Linlithgow from 1832. Here is what one of them looks like. You could walk or cycle the route which is 6.5km long and I think there are seven stones to find. The map below suggests starting the walk from St Ninians Church which is where we went before Christmas. One of the stones is located right next to it. Check out the map and you can find out more in the Leaflet which I have attached.
Check out my post about this weeks story ‘Paddington Bear’. I hope you enjoy it. During the week let us know how you are getting on by emailing myself and Miss Ross.
And below are the follow on activities you can do. Try to do at least two over the week. This week your handwriting task links to the book, so make sure you complete that task as well.

The Browns were waiting to meet their daughter, Judy, when Mr Brown noticed something small and furry near the LEFT LUGGAGE office. “It looks like a bear,” he said.

First a highlight from my past week: As lock down has eased a little’ we went on our first family car ride for 2 and a half months. We went to Blackness Castle for a stroll down by the Forth. What a beautiful view of the bridges we had.
While we were there, we found out lots of little shells. It inspired me to read ‘Sharing a Shell’ for this weeks story.
We also managed a trip to the ice cream shop earlier in the week after our home schooling bell and rung. I had a cookies and cream ice cream milkshake. It was delicious!
Remember, I would love to hear about your highlights too.
