Primary 1 absolutely loved having our mummies and daddies into school to share in our learning through play. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.\u00a0 In Literacy we learned the \u2018ew\u2019 and \u2018ire\u2019 sounds. We played roll and read, looked for real and nonsense words, played snakes and ladders and taught ted words. In writing we were learning about an information report. We wrote an information report about bikes.<\/p>\n<p>In Maths this week we have been learning about symmetry. We looked for shapes or objects around the classroom that were symmetrical, made loose parts symmetrical faces, completed monster pictures so they were symmetrical. We used a mirror to help us.<\/p>\n<p>In our afternoons we have been further exploring pets. We learned about what a pet needs such as love and food. We made split pin puppets of pets, made 2D pictures of pets and explored the role of a vet in helping to care for animals. In P.E we have been continuing to learn basic Tennis skills. In Health and wellbeing, we were labelling parts of the body. \u00a0Here are the children\u2019s reflections:<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell \u2013 \u201cI enjoyed having mummy visit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aaron \u2013 \u201cI enjoyed playing Sumdog.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finlay \u2013 \u201cI loved playing Sumdog and I loved my mum and my dad coming in. I also loved making a split pin pet. I loved playing in the pet shop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Angus \u2013 \u201cI liked playing Sumdog, my mummy visiting and getting happy birthday sung to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ishanvi \u2013 \u201cI liked playing Sumdog. Also making a pet puppet with my mummy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leo- \u201cI liked my mummy coming in and making my split pin puppet with my mummy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>David \u2013 \u201cI loved my mummy coming in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matthew \u2013 \u201cI liked showing my daddy around my classroom. I also enjoyed playing Sumdog.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gracie \u2013 \u201cI liked my mummy coming into school and I liked working in the pet shop and vets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Orlaith \u2013 \u201cMy mummy and daddy coming and playing in the bricks and pet shop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lyla \u2013 \u201cI enjoyed my mummy coming in and playing Sumdog, as it was a competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emily \u2013 \u201cI liked playing Sumdog and in the vets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jessica \u2013 \u201cMy mummy coming and feeding the fish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emma \u2013 \u201cMy mummy and my daddy coming to school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mia \u2013 \u201cI liked showing my mummy and daddy how to play Sumdog.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ayaat \u2013 \u201cI loved my mummy coming to school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely long weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Miss Maclachlan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good afternoon.
