Most of P7 have been able to access Microsoft Teams and despite a few glitches, have completed many of the learning tasks available to them. I’ve been very impressed with how creative they have been in solving issues and the variety of ways in which they have shared their learning with me and with the class. I’m finding it really challenging to keep up with all the messages and emails so I’m going to start posting the answers to Maths Assignments at the end of the week for everyone to self-correct. I really enjoyed launching our Share your Home Learning channel as there were lots of good conversations going on. I like sharing book recommendations on Epic as it’s great to see the variety of texts being enjoyed. I very much miss seeing all those cheeky faces every day and I can’t wait until I can give every single one of them a big hug. I’m so, so proud to be their teacher.

Katy
Throughout this week I have learnt a lot about Microsoft Teams and how to use it. I have enjoyed working in my own house. I am enjoying PE with Joe Wicks because it is keeping me fit and healthy. I miss all of my friends and being able to talk to them during break and lunch. Learning at home has been hard at times but I’m used to it now. I also made a really good smoothie.

Cameron
I found working at home more fun than I thought it would be because I’m still having fun and I can still talk to my friends while I’m doing work but I still miss school and seeing my friends faces and playing outside with them.

Finlay
This week hasn’t been like usual, and how have I felt about working at home? It’s ok I guess. We have maths problems every day and we get to choose the work we do so it is quite fun. My favourite task is Joe Wicks because I miss PE. We done ratios and I found it in the middle. I found Home Learning very interesting this way as we could discuss more. I miss school because I miss seeing people and being able to play sports with them or something.

Silvester
I learnt what ratios are. My favourite task is The Body Coach TV P.E. lessons! I thought home learning was going to be too easy but no it’s still quite tricky. What I miss about school is running outside a lot.

Calum W
I enjoyed learning ratios I found it quite easy. I enjoyed doing Joe Wicks PE sessions they were hard but fun. I also learned how to do a bunch of stuff on teams even though it does not work that great.

Matthew
In the first week of home school I found team confusing to use. My favourite home learning task was the cooking/baking, I made Peacemaker Mud Pies. I don’t really miss anything from school but my suggestion for next week is to bring Bonnie on a live video.

Kyle
My favourite thing about home school this week was doing the problems of the day because it was interesting to use Teams for the first time.

Cade
I like problems of the day because it is fun, helps you to revise your math and it’s a challenge. I don’t like being stuck in my house though.

Murray
I learned how to do ratios. Working at home is difficult as teams is bad right now but it’s also fun. My favourite activity is PE. Home learning was what I expected. The good bits are we don’t have a lot of work and the work is easy. I miss assemblies from school.

Leon
“School” has been strange this week because normally we would be doing work at our desks with a lot of people around, but instead, we are at home doing our work online. Despite how weird it feels, this week was actually quite fun, and it’s cool that we’re still doing P.E. Overall, I have had quite a fun week.

Luke
I think working at home is a bit easier than normal most of the time. But it’s harder to self-learn. Ratios were quite a lot of fun. Homework was fun sharing with every one and seeing what they did.

Callan
I downloaded all the sheets to my computer because teams didn’t work properly. I don’t like not seeing everyone or having chats. Ratios was good. The videos helped me learn how to do the sheets. PE with Joe is hard but fun at the same time. I like that I have lots of breaks and can work after and before normal school times.

Sri
This week I found learning at home quite easy but difficult sometimes when teams is not working. Some of the work was a bit difficult. The good thing about is that we have more time to relax, have free time and we have our phones.
What have I learned this week? This week we were doing ratios it was fun because we learned something new and they were easy.
What has been my favourite activity/ home learning task? Joe wicks workouts because they were fun and some workouts were easy and some were hard.
Is home learning what I expected it to be? No I thought it would be much easier.
What do I miss about school? I miss my friends, classmates, teacher and other school staff but at least we can communicate with them. I miss taking to other people in other classes.
Maybe next week we can do something else for P.E.

Hayley B
This week I found learning at home was pretty easy but some of it was difficult. The good thing is about learning from home is that we can relax more while doing our work. This week we were working on ratios, I think I have seen them before but they were quite easy and something different to learn about. Every morning we do Joe Wick’s daily work out, I find it fun because we are getting some hard challenges but we also get some easy challenges too. My favourite activity this week was Joe Wicks because he is good at making fitness better and more fun. I think home learning will mostly be the same except from sharing it on Microsoft Sway, because we will have to still do our tasks as usual but we’re just sharing it online. I miss seeing my friends, teachers, the class, and other staff from school but at least we can communicate online with some of them. Maybe for next week we could look at coding or even crafting videos for some fun and to improve some of our skills.

Zoe
What have I learned this week? This week we did ratios it was fun because we got to learn something new and they can be easy but can also be hard.
How have I found working at home? Difficult because teams seems to not work a lot so it’s hard to do work when it’s not working.
What has been my favourite activity or learning task? Joe Wicks work outs are good because they help you keep fit and are fun. They have some easy work outs and some hard work outs.
Is home learning what you expected it to be? No because I never thought it would be this hard and stressful. But it is also good because I like the problems of the day because some are challenging and some are easy.
What are the good bits about working at home? The good things about working at home is more free time you get you phone some of the day. You can talk to your friends while you’re working.
What do I miss about school? I miss being able to see my friends and teachers. Getting to do P.E. with the class. I miss talking to people in other classes face to face. I miss being able to walk to school every day.
What suggestions or ideas do you have for next week’s learning? We could do something else for PE instead of doing Joe Wicks every day, do some science at our homes and we can be on a call learning how to make a paper air plane for example.

Mrs B It’s been a really difficult week as we all learned how to work from home.
