{"id":11646,"date":"2020-02-28T14:49:47","date_gmt":"2020-02-28T14:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/livingstonvillageprimaryschool\/?p=11646"},"modified":"2020-02-28T14:49:47","modified_gmt":"2020-02-28T14:49:47","slug":"p1-weekly-reflection-28-02-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/livingstonvillageprimaryschool\/2020\/02\/28\/p1-weekly-reflection-28-02-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"P1 Weekly Reflection 28.02.2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi folks,<\/p>\n<p>Apologies for not posting in a few weeks, it&#8217;s been a very busy time!<\/p>\n<p>The children have been revising their set two sounds\u00a0<em>ay, ee, igh, ow, oo, ar or, air, ir, ou, oy\u00a0<\/em>and the tricky words\u00a0<em>are, we, to, like, want, what, they, be, she, go, old, her, do, does.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>This week we have moved on to set 3 sounds and have focused on\u00a0<em>oi<\/em> and\u00a0<em>ea\u00a0<\/em>and tricky words\u00a0\u00a0<em>any\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>many.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>The children are making good progress with their phonics and we thank you for your support at home!<\/p>\n<p>In Numeracy we have been learning our number bonds to 10 and 20 and have been looking at adding and subtracting within 20.\u00a0 We have also been talking about the number after and the number before.\u00a0 We have learned how to tell o&#8217;clock times and half past times on analogue and digitial clocks and we are developing our understanding of the order of the days of the week and months of the year.\u00a0 This week we learned about odd and even numbers.\u00a0 Perhaps you can practise looking for some odd and even numbers at home or when you are out and about!<\/p>\n<p>In our Science work we have learning about the parts of a plant.\u00a0 We enjoy our lessons with Miss Whigham.<\/p>\n<p>In PE we continued with our gymnastics and this week practising bunny hopping.\u00a0 Mrs Clyne will continue with gymnastics and Mrs Smith will continue to do some team building activities.<\/p>\n<p>Today we watched P2s assembly on Superheroes and learned that it doesn&#8217;t take a cape and a mask to be a hero.\u00a0 Everyday heroes can be seen around our school on a daily basis.\u00a0 If we follow the school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe we will all be heroes.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some of the children&#8217;s comments about their week:<\/p>\n<p>Sophie &#8220;I enjoyed learning our tricky words any and many.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Penelope &#8220;I enjoyed learning our sounds oi and ea.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Georgie &#8220;I liked learning our new sound.\u00a0 It was the same \u2018oy\u2019 sound but it was spelt \u2018oi\u2019.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emelia &#8220;I liked at the assembly when they sung the songs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Elloise &#8220;I enjoyed the assembly and I liked the songs they sung.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Zac &#8220;I liked playing with the bricks.\u00a0 I was building a speedboat.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cole &#8220;I have liked learning about boats.
