{"id":11570,"date":"2020-01-11T09:37:31","date_gmt":"2020-01-11T09:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/livingstonvillageprimaryschool\/?p=11570"},"modified":"2020-01-11T09:37:49","modified_gmt":"2020-01-11T09:37:49","slug":"p1-weekly-update-10-01-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/livingstonvillageprimaryschool\/2020\/01\/11\/p1-weekly-update-10-01-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"P1 Weekly Update 10.01.2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year!<\/p>\n<p>It was lovely to welcome all the children back and hear their stories from the Christmas break.\u00a0 Thanks to everyone for their lovely Christmas wishes, cards and gifts.\u00a0 It is lovely of you to think of us and is much appreciated.\u00a0 The children have returned refreshed and have been very enthusiastic about planning a new design layout for our classroom.\u00a0 We have had great fun rearranging the different areas.<\/p>\n<p>This week\u2019s particular highlight was the new arrival of large blocks which have sparked some fantastic play.\u00a0 The children worked well in pairs or small groups to build some amazing structures.\u00a0 We also had to do some problem solving as we tried to work out how best to fit all the bricks into the new storage unit, this proved challenging!<\/p>\n<p>We have revamped our house corner which has encouraged more engaging play and the children have been asking if we could get some dressing up clothes so if you have anything you\u2019d like to clear out and think would be suitable for the children to role play in, please do sent it in.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n<p>We talked about New Year\u2019s resolutions and how sometimes people make promises of things they can change or do better.\u00a0 The children chatted about taking more exercise or eating more healthily.<\/p>\n<p>In assembly Mrs Mill spoke to us about managing our worries and we learned that it is best to talk about things that are worrying us.\u00a0 We also read a story in class today called <em>Lion\u2019s In A Flap<\/em> which was all about Lion managing his worries.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s some of the children\u2019s comments about their week:-<\/p>\n<p>Georgie &#8211; I liked learning our new sounds igh, ay, ee, ow.<\/p>\n<p>Ruby \u2013 I liked learning the sounds too.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie &#8211; I liked the assembly when Mrs Mill told us all about managing our worries.<\/p>\n<p>Isla \u2013 I liked the assembly, learning new sounds and when we got the new blocks.<\/p>\n<p>Nieve \u2013 I liked playing with the new bricks and building castles with Sahasra, Elise and Isla.<\/p>\n<p>Penelope \u2013 I liked playing with the blocks.<\/p>\n<p>Elise \u2013 I liked when me and Nieve were playing in the house corner together.\u00a0 I liked that it has moved.<\/p>\n<p>Emelia- I enjoyed playing with the bricks.<\/p>\n<p>Piotr \u2013 I like the house corner.<\/p>\n<p>Lucia \u2013 I liked playing with Isla and Eva in the new house corner.<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year!
