The best bit of P1 this year was when Santa came to give us presents. I was happy.

My best bit of p1 has been the daily mile because now when we run I don`t get tired anymore.

The Daily Mile
Each class has started doing the daily mile. We are trying to walk or run a mile every day. The weather has been good this week so we have been doing it outside. It is fun racing your friends.

The Story of the Little Gentleman
Yesterday morning, P1-3 watched a performance of the show, The Story of the Little Gentleman. The little gentleman was sad and lonely, and he wanted to find a friend. One day, a curious dog turned up and wanted to play. All the boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed watching the play.
Cole- My favourite bit was the funny way the dog ate.
Jamie- I loved all of it because it was really funny and it also made me think of friendship.
Paige- The acting was really good.
Sean Lee- I liked the start when things popped out of different parts of the box.
Professor Eco
This week P1-3 had a visit from Professor Eco. He told us lots of stories about how he fixed eco problems in different schools. 
Sports Relief
The house captains and some P6s organised a Sports Relief challenge for the whole school. It was great fun! We were also told to either wear our house colours, or sporty clothes. We raised £147 for Sports Relief!
Reduce- Reuse- Recycle
In p1b we have been learning about recycling. We should remember the 3Rs- Reduce- Reuse and Recycle. We made posters for the wall.

Mother’s Day Assembly
In P1 we are working hard practising for our Mother’s Day assembly. If you are the parent of a P1 or P2 pupil you are invited to our Mother’s Day assembly on Friday 4th March at 9.30am.

P1 Dinosaur Measurement Masterclass
P1 and the Nursery got together again for their Masterclass. We looked at the words to describe how big and small dinosaurs could be. Then we sorted toy dinosaurs in order according to their size. We made a Dinosaur Parade showing pictures of dinosaurs in order of size. In the afternoon each of the 3 groups had a dinosaur footprint in class and we had to find out how big it was by measuring with our own feet. Each group also made a large picture of a dinosaur, which we will be using to compare the size of our 3 dinosaurs, to see which group had the smallest, which had the medium sized and which had the largest dinosaur.
Tessellation Masterclass
In the Forrest Room we were investigating Tessellation through the work of the Artist M.C. Escher.
We made tiles using shapes and printed patterns using in and stamps.
We found out that to be successful tessellations should have no gaps and that the shapes should not overlap.
