A packed week in Primary 1

This week has been a busy week with a lot of learning.

In sounds we learnt two new ones, ee and oo.  The children really enjoyed these sounds and could identify them on the smartboard when they were shown.  Also this week we have been learning to blend our sounds to write words under picture clues.

As a class we discussed our learning and some of the comments were:

Lucy C said we were designing new wellie boots for Katie Morag as she wears black ones.  Poppie said that we used different patterns to create them.

Ava said we have been learning to do Scottish Country dancing.

We have been learning more about money and playing a money bingo, said Andrew.

In Primary 1 we have been learning number sense by using   the Rekenreks.  We loved using these.

Also we have been learning about germs and the importance of washing our hands properly.  We began an experiment using bread which we will record  as a class any changes that may appear.  Also in another experiment we used glitter to show how germs can spread easily and washing hands with soap helps germs not to spread.

Scottish poems were being practiced and the judging happened on Friday which we will find out next week.  The children were fantastic at reciting their poems.

On Friday we had our very own brain coach back to visit us, Mr Turnbull discussed with us about being kind to all and  the ways we can show this kindness.
