In literacy the rockets have been learning the sound ‘qu’ which took a lot of practice and the moons and stars were learning ‘g’ and ‘v’.  “We made queen, quiz and quit.  We also learned about words starting with g like gate and goat and v words like vet and van.  In writing we learned how to write an invitation.  We learned that we need to give information about where, when, time and who and wrote an invitation to the ball for Cinderella.  We were tried out lots of different language games including rhyming and matching words and pictures.

In maths the squares have been counting in twos, tens and fives.  The triangles have been learning to make up to a specific number and carefully count to colour the correct number.  We have all been learning about tally marks to record numbers.

In our topic work we were making big Cinderella characters for a display.  We were also recording lots of different feelings in our big book.  This week we have spent a lot of time working as a whole class or in groups and learning to share our ideas and take turns.  We have also been very busy practicing for our nativity performance on the stage.
