This week we have really stepped up our Pantomime practising. The songs sound good and the acting and gesture is getting better every day. We have now started to focus on stage directions and getting people into the correct positions in different scenes. We are looking forward to being able to perform this on the 14th December @ 7pm. Letters about costumes also went home on Thursday, please bring in costumes as soon as possible.

We were also introduced to our new class pet Rory. We read a story about Rory where his owner forgot to feed him, walk him, pet him and so he felt very lonely. By the end of the short story we found out that Rory’s owner had neglected him because he had drunk too much alcohol. We then learned about some of the different effects which alcohol can have on the human body and also on members of the community and some pets! We are looking forward to learning a little bit more about this next week.

In writing we focused on writing acrostic poems using Remembrance as our theme. We have learned lots about what happens at a Remembrance service, what Poppy Scotland does for ex-serviceman and women called veterans and about the Poppy Factory in Edinburgh. We have produced some very thoughtful pieces of writing which we will display in the class.

In Maths we have moved on to learning about different types of angles. We learned these through the ‘Angles Family’ who are made of all different angles. We learned the different degrees which different angles are. Why don’t you ask us about the difference between acute, obtuse, right and reflex angles?
