Even though it has been a short week, primary 1 have been busy learning. This week we have learnt a new sound a. This was exciting as this was our first vowel sound.
In maths primary 1 have been learning all about the number 5 and they are practising really hard at writing it too. Also they have been learning all about shapes. These include triangles, circles, squares and rectangles which they used to make some shape art.
We had a few special visitors in this week. In PE, Mr Stewart was teaching us all about our awareness of space and skills for catching. We all really enjoyed this and found it good fun.
Another visitor was from The Learning Zoo. They came and talked to us about animals especially beavers. We found out lots of information about them and even got to touch beaver’s fur. Here are some of the things we found out:
- They lived in a lodge.
- They eat plants.
- They were nocturnal.
- They build dams in water.
- They can stay under water for 15 minutes.
