Primary 6/5 First Update

We have had a great first few weeks in Primary 6/5. We have been busy getting to each other as well as our new teacher and classroom. Our topic this term is Rights and Responsibilities so we have been exploring the Rights of the Child and comparing life as a child in the UK to children around the world. Mrs Thomson showed some of pictures of her trip to Tanzania to help us with this. We have been working hard in Maths and doing work on numbers and place value. We enjoyed going outside and finding items in the playground we could use as hundreds, tens and units. In literacy, we are focusing on persuasive writing at the moment and exploring different techniques we can use.

Our P.E days this term will be on a Monday and a Thursday. Please ensure your child has the appropriate kits for both indoor and outdoor sessions.

Finally, I am very pleased to be joining the Kirkhill community and I look forward to meeting all of you in due course!
