A settled start!

P2/1 have settled in well to the new term after their holiday. They have worked really hard this week on perfecting their assembly and cannot wait to perform it in front of an audience. This week has been all about settling back in to routines and the children have done a great job! We started a new Mini-Topic about Food this week. The children discussed Healthy and Unhealthy Food and we also learned a little bit about where food comes from. Some were surprised that yogurt comes from a cow! In Maths we did a little bit of revision work on addition and subtraction within 10 using our Mental Maths skills. There will be no homework this week .

Next week the children will be starting a new Transition Topic which will run alongside their mini Topic about Food. More details about this will be communicated to you ASAP. For our Food Topic, the children will be learning more about a balanced diet and will be having a look at the different food groups.

In Maths we are all starting a new Data Handling Topic where we will be looking at gathering data, using tally marks and presenting our data in a Bar Graph.

In Phonics, we will be revising some of our trickier sounds from last term. Reading books will also be handed out.
