Knights and Castles and lots of subtraction!

The children have started their new Topic about Castles. They have had a look at the inside and outside of a Castle and learned that not all castles look the same. We focused on the Keep of a Castle and learned that this was a very important building and this was the safest place to be. Next week, we are going to learn about the people who live in Castles and will be finding out about Knights and Coats of Arms.

In Maths, Some children will be learning to subtract within 20. We will also be making sure we can write our numbers the correct way around. Some of us will be learning to add 2 amountsĀ  within 10 using lots of fun materials to help us!

We are making excellent progress in Reading and books and sounds and tricky words cards will continue to be sent home. Please could you go over these as often as possible with your child. Thank you. Pages to be read will be recorded in their Reading Records, so please could these be brought into school everyday.

Mrs Stenhouse is very impressed with our gymnastics work we have done so far. This week we did a balance and roll sequence. Next time we are going to do these again and we are going to perform them to the class. We may also do a little bit of Yoga!

Please welcome Miss Clark, who will be working in P2/1 for the next 5 weeks.
