This week the children(and Mrs Stenhouse!) enjoyed seeing the Scottish Cup in school and learning about the word, Persevere. It was great to see such a big achievement from Hibernian Football Club and for the children to learn never to give up.

You will have noticed Nativity words being sent home and children probably singing some of their songs! Yes, it’s that time of year again! Please can you help your child learn their lines if they have any and encourage them to bring them into school each day for rehearsals. Information about costumes will follow soon.

Primary 1 have been making excellent progress writing their own sums and doing addition within 10. This will continue for the next few weeks. Primary 2 have been using cubes this week to help them add within 20 and find the missing number. Keep practising writing those bigger numbers!

We’ve been doing lots of blending, word building and dictation work in class and writing short sentences! Primary 2 have also been looking at rhyming words. Please can you send your child in with their Reading bags every day.

The children are enjoying using raffle tickets to collect table points! We will find out the next winning table on Monday before we move seats!
