Dear Parent/Carer
I am pleased to inform you that the Roots of Empathy programme, which was very successful last year, will be commencing on Tuesday 4th October 2016 with Primary 3 and Mr Robertson.
This programme teaches children about feelings, their own feeling and the feelings of others. Once every 3 weeks, baby Billie and her parents will visit the classroom. A trained Roots of Empathy Instructor will work with the children and coach them in observing the baby and watch the baby develop over the course of the year. The instructor will also visit the classroom before and after the Family Visits to prepare and reinforce teachings using a specialised lesson plan for each visit.
We’re very excited that we’ve been chosen to participate in Roots of Empathy again this year, and we hope you are too. Could we please ask that the attached permission form be completed and returned to school by Friday 30th September. If you have any questions or would like more information, please let us know.
