P5 have had an energetic and very active week following The Body Coach sessions everyday! We have been doing a lot of learning also, especially through our topic, the Romans.
In Literacy, we were also using the new comprehension resource which also improves our grammar and word knowledge. We all really enjoyed using these as we had multiple choice to support us and were able to peer assess with the answer cards available. We also started planning for our newspaper reports about Boudicca’s Revolt in 60AD. We will be using our plans to write from a journalist point of view next week.
In Maths and Numeracy, we started a new topic which was Measuring length. Everyone enjoyed measuring objects around the classroom and each other! We were working with many units of measure, including; cm, m, inches and millimetres. Next week we will be learning about measuring weight. Everyone enjoyed taking part in the Addition and Subtraction Treasure Hunt also and worked hard in our partners to complete the challenge. Lena, Struan and Ryan cracked the code first, followed by Deryn and Ryan Duffy and third place was Alanna and Lewis. Well done to everyone for trying so hard!
We had two Pupils of the Week; Allie Cowan and Deryn Whigham, for always working super hard and improving their writing skills. Great work girls!
Holly Stevens was delighted to be chosen to take part in Hot Choc Friday this week for her participation and love for dance, drama and art.
Next week on Friday we are celebrating Sports Relief by coming to school in our sports wear and participating in different active sporting activities across the school.
