This week in P7 we have been sharing our stories of what we got up to during our ‘Snow Days’. It was great to hear about all the fun things everyone did with their friends and families and we even shared some Snow Learning activities.
We held our belated World Book Day on Thursday and it was lovely to see the effort everyone went to dressing up as book characters. We had a special visit from Mike Nicholson, a Scottish author who spoke with us about how he began writing and helped us think of ways we can start a story if we are lacking inspiration. To end the day we read with our buddies.
In maths we have continued looking at fractions. Some of us have really gained confidence in recognising, simplifying and converting fractions. we have all been working on quick recall of our times tables and are challenging ourselves to know our facts of by heart.
As part of our topic this term we have looked at the Royal Family and the line of succession from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II. This has tied in nicely to a very special trip our Head Boy and Head Girl are undertaking next week. Leah and Thapelo are off to represent Kirkhill at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey. We know they will represent us well and hope they enjoy the experience.
P7 have a busy week coming up. On Tuesday we will be trying to Crack the Easter Code at Strathbrock church. That night our choir will be competing in their Glee competition. They have been working so hard and we wish Mrs Smith and all of the choir good luck! For the parents and carers of the children attending transition camp, we are holding a meeting on Wednesday after school (3:30pm). For those not able to attend I will pop a copy of the presentation on the blog. 🙂
Have a great weekend 🙂
