This week we have finished off our learning about time in Maths. We are now more confident in being able to tell the time on both analogue and digital clocks. The Tetrahedrons group were finding out about the speed, distance and time triangle. Although they found this tricky at first they did a super job of their work!

Over the next few weeks we are going to be learning about some of the most important people that lived in the 20th Century and how they changed the world. This week we were learning about Martin Luther King. We learned that he was a Civil Rights activist who wanted equal rights for people of different races. We learned about his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech at the White House and how laws went on to be changed because of him. We then wrote our very own ‘dreams’ and how we think the world should change in the future. Some of our ideas were to find a cure for cancer, to end homelessness and starvation, ending animal cruelty etc. We also wrote some newspaper articles about different aspects of Martin Luther Kings life. We had to include all of the features of a newspaper article from the perspective of a journalist.

In P.E. we were consolidating our throwing and hitting of the tennis ball in a rally sequence. We had to try and beat our opposing pair. Please remember to send in appropriate outdoor P.E. kit as it is still quite chilly outside.

All of the children have been issued with lines to learn for our assembly on 23rd February. They are welcome to dress as their characters in the assembly or their favourite book characters/authors for this.
