Term 3 – Week 1 – P7/6

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We all enjoyed our Christmas holidays and are now back school ready to learn.

We have started this term by looking at New Year Resolutions which are our targets we hope to achieve in 2018. We also thought about our school targets for Term 3 and have all now got targets which we should achieve by Easter.

We have started our new topic which is called ‘A Moment in Time’ which is about different decades in the 20th Century. We began by having a carousel to find out what we already know about the 20th Century. We have learned what decades, centuries and millenniums are and how many years are in each time period. Mrs Weir gave us lots of different cards with different events from the 20th Century on them, our job was to sort them into the correct decades. Some of us did well at this, and some us were very surprised at some of the decades which things happened in. In Writing, we had to think about our personal opinions about what were the best and worst things which happened in the 20th Century.

Here’s our thoughts for the week:

” I learned that Elvis Presley did not die the way that I thought he did.” – Ashley

” I was surprised that the film Lady and the Tramp was so old.” – Kyla
