Over the last two weeks P2/1 have been very busy. We took part in a number of book week activities which we really enjoyed. We has several visitors come in to read to us including hearing the latest Julia Donaldson story, several Hairy McClary stories and a visit from Hairy McClary himself and a Scottish sing-song after we heard ‘Wee Granny and the Ceilidh. Our P6 and 7 buddies came to read with us and we also had our own big bedtime read in the classroom. Everyone got their bookbug bags (primary 1) and Read, Write, Count bags (primary 2). As a class we read the three books from the primary 1 bag and then used tally marks to record our favourite one.
This week we performed our nativity ‘Mary’s knitting’ and we thoroughly enjoyed the chance to perform on stage. On Thursday we then got the chance to be the audience while we watched the primary 7s dress rehearsal for their panto ‘Puss and Boots’ and we thought it was wonderful. Back in class we have been learning about character by focusing on the different people in Cinderella and made story maps so we could retell the story in a different way. In maths we have been using some new number bond trees to work in pairs and investigate different ways to make 10.
Finally a reminder that our craft afternoon has been postponed until Monday 18th December from 2.15 – 3.15.
