First week back after the holidays and Primary 1 have been working really hard.
In our sounds we have been practicing all the sounds we have done and starting to blend these to make words. We used our sound mats to make words like “tap” “man” “pat” “sick”. In writing this week we wrote about our Halloween costumes and drew detailed pictures.
In Maths we were working on ordering our numbers as well as working out the missing number in a sequence from 0-5. Also, we continued to work on our measuring skills by using a variety of classroom objects to measure. We learned that we have to make sure our measuring objects are all the same size, do not overlap and that we measure in a straight line.
We had outdoor learning again this week. We read the story of Stickman in class and then went out to gather our own sticks and used them to create the letters of the sounds that we have been learning.
Also, this week we have been beginning to practice our assembly for next week. Our buddies from Primary 7 were down to help us learn words and sing songs. Practicing at home if possible, will be appreciated, this is the link to one of the songs we will be singing.
