Primary 1 have been working hard this week. In literacy we learnt new sounds i, k and ck. In maths we have been learning to add one more to numbers from 0-5. Also, we have used cubes to measure and compare different objects.
We have been finding out about our emotions this term and this week we had to explain when we get angry and different ways we can cope with this. Earlier in the week Steven Turnbull came in to visit the class and read them a story linked to mindfulness. We learnt using a glitter jar how our body feels when we get angry. He shared with us different strategies we can use to help us control our emotions.
We were learning outside about shadows and drawing around our shadows so everyone can see them.
As our topic is ‘People that Help us’, we learnt about firefighters this week. We found out what they do, what they wear and why and what equipment they use.
Also, we had an amazing time at the Macmillan coffee morning, thank you to the Primary 4’s for a great time.
