This week in Primary 5 we have had lots of fun learning!

This week we had our first Kirkhill Chatter session where we celebrated European School Sport Day  by discussing our opinions on Physical Education and taking part in some fun active sports activities. We also had a special visitor in school called Mr Stewart, who taught us new Gymnastic skills in P.E this week. We finished reading our class novel, James and the Giant Peach and watched the movie after to see the similarities and differences between book and film narratives. On Thursday, we went to the garden during our Science lesson and planted our very own pot with sunflower seeds. We will be observing them grow into each stage of the life cycle over the next 3 weeks. In Literacy, we were writing  about who we feel is a special person in our lives and some of us shared our work with the class and on Dojo with our parents. In Maths and Numeracy, we have been practicing our 2,3 & 4 time tables along with adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers with multiples of 10.

We would like to share our ‘Best Bits’ of the week:

Abi enjoyed P.E because she had a different teacher and she took part in new activities.
Holly also enjoyed doing gymnastics in P.E with Mr Stewart as she learned new things.
Steven loved P.E, especially swinging from the ropes!
Kiera liked P.E because she got to jump from the horse onto the mat.
Holly P enjoyed P.E because she could climb up a bench on to high bars!
Alanna enjoyed P.E, especially when jumping on the horse and she was grateful when Sarah gave her a little push up.
Lewis I enjoyed finishing James and the Giant Peach because he thought it was very funny.
Oliwia liked writing about her Mum for her Special Person writing and drawing her after.
Grace. S enjoyed doing P.E because it was really fun and she loves gymnastics.
Robert enjoyed climbing up the bars when he was doing P.E with Mr Stewart.
Louie enjoyed writing about his step-dad for his Special Person writing and sharing it on Dojo.
Sarah enjoyed designing her own front cover for our class novel, James and the Giant Peach.
Grace B enjoyed planting her own sunflower seeds and she is looking forward to watching them grow!
Nico and Reese liked P.E because they got to show everyone how good they were at climbing up the rope!
Ellie enjoyed because she got to play on the climbing frame for the first time.
Zach enjoyed P.E especially when climbing up the ropes as high has he could.
Toby enjoyed planting his seeds because it was so exciting!
Ryan R liked planting his sunflower seeds and cant to wait to see how big it gets.
Callie enjoyed planting her seeds as well as she has only planted one seed in her whole life before!
Owen enjoyed P.E because he got to play on the ropes.
Struan also enjoyed planting his seeds because Owen put a little bit of mud down his back, which was funny!
Erin enjoyed swinging on the ropes in P.E because she got to be Tarzan!
Last but not least, Amy enjoyed playing on the monkey bars as it was her first time in P5.
