A short week in P7/6

We have had a lovely short week in P7/6. In Writing, we had to come up with alternative fairy tales where the goodies became villains or where 2 or more stories collided. We had stories where Red Riding Hood met the 3 Little Pigs or when Peter Pan crossed the Trolls from Billy Goats Gruff. The learning intention was to use better vocabulary in our stories and Mrs Weir highlighted the good vocabulary in our jotters. This gives us something to focus on in future writing lessons.

In Maths we have looked at place value up to millions and what each digit represents in a number. We are getting more confident with using and recognising larger numbers. Next week we will be moving on to rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.

In P.E. we were taught some tennis skills by Mr Stewart which included lots of games and practising throwing and hitting the tennis balls. This will be our new focus after the P6 Cross Country. P6 Cross Country is next Thursday 28th and children will need appropriate shoes and clothing.

Cauliflower Christmas Cards are in bags today and if you are ordering then these need to be returned by next Friday. Primary 7s have Enterprise fundraising letters home today. MacMillan Coffee Morning letters have also been issued with information about the Kirkhill Bake Off.
