We’ve had another busy (and gloriously sunny) week in P4/3.
In Literacy we learned about past, present and future tenses with Mrs. Blair. We will use this knowledge and apply it to our writing as some of us are switching between tenses in our stories.
In Maths with Mrs. Robertson we have been learning how to tell the time on a digital and analogue clock. We have been focusing on the difference between quarter to and quarter past. To help us with this skill, we created our own prompt clocks that we can refer to if we are stuck!
We will continue to work on time and will look at telling the time in five minute intervals once we are confident with quarter past and quarter to.
In our Topic work we have been designing brochures for the Titanic. We had to find and use information from our Titanic Fact-files. We wrote about the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class accommodations on board the ship. We found it really interesting that the Titanic had a swimming pool, gymnasium, barbers and libraries.
On Thursday we took advantage of the lovely sunshine and moved our learning outdoors. After practising for Sports Day with the Primary 4 class, we paired up and used outdoor chalk to outline our partner. We then decorated our silhouettes to create 1st, 2nd or 3rd class passengers.
Finally in Topic work, we learned about how the Titanic sank and completed a task where we put the events in sequential order. We will be learning more about whose fault it was that the Titanic sank in the coming weeks.
Please remember that it is Sports Day on Tuesday so please remind the children to bring outdoor and weather-appropriate kit.
