Last week in Primary 7 we started our new context for learning about the Ice Age. We learned about the meaning of glaciation and what glaciers are and how they form. We then conducted a science experiment to find out what materials make ice melt in the quickest and slowest times. We had to form a hypothesis, collect our equipment and conduct the experiment. Ask us about our results – every group formed different results. We then discussed how different variables can impact upon the results and conclusions of an experiment.

In Maths, the Tetrahedrons have been solving equations which involved brackets. We learned that their is an acronym (BODMAS) to help us arrange our equations before solving them. The Hexagons have looked at solving function machines with links to algebraic equations. The Triangles have been continuing to focus on their 3 and 4 times tables.

We all enjoyed our fun active spelling activities in class this week. We had a variety of different stations such as pasta words, shaving foam words, finger painting, hangman and dictionary races. We all had fun whilst learning our new spelling patterns. At the end of the lesson we were able to suggest activities which we could do in the future.
