Sense – ational Science!

This week in science, P1 have been learning about their senses!  We can name our 5 senses and know that they work because messages are sent to our brains.

We investigated using our senses and had some great, if a little messy, fun! We tried tasting things that were sweet, salty, bitter & sour – we had lots of screwed up faces when tasting lemon & grapefruit.  We used our sense of smell to sniff some lovely fresh herbs – most of us recognised the smell of mint. We also sniffed some very stinky cheese! We used our sense of sight to look at the patterns in a kaleidoscope and to study objects with a magnifying glass.  For sound, we loved hearing the ocean inside a seashell & bashing a mini-steel drum!

Super science, P1! Well done!
