Well, after weeks of anticipation – show week finally arrived! On Monday we went over our run-arounds, scenery changes and mike changes so that everyone knew exactly what to do and where to be! On Tuesday we were so excited to get into our costumes for the first time and perform our dress rehearsal to the whole school – it was brilliant! The dress rehearsal gave us the opportunity to get some feedback and find out if anything needed to be changed for the final big performance. We loved seeing all our parents, carers, family and friends in the audience on Thursday and we really enjoyed performing for all of you! We learned lots preparing for the show and we hope that you will agree all our hard work was worth it!
Now that the show is over, we are looking forward to starting our new topic – Disgusting Digestion! We drew what we thought happened to food during its journey through the body. We will look at these again at the end of the topic to see what we have learned. We planned what we wanted to Make, Do, See and Write during our topic – and these ideas will be put on the planner on our classroom wall. We’re looking forward to learning all the gory details about the process of digestion!
In literacy this week, we learned about different word classes – nouns, verbs and adjectives. We looked at the spelling rules for adding the suffix ‘-ly’ – did you know there are four different rules in total? We are also enjoying our new class novel ‘The Midnight Gang’ by David Walliams. In writing, we will now be moving on to a block of personal writing.
