The P3s had fun this morning sharing their learning with parents and carers. There were lots of different activities related to the “Solar System and Beyond!” topic. There was pastel drawings of space scenes, making a rocket competition, creating space music in a variety of ways, tours round the Kirkhill Space Station, some ukulele playing and the Makey Makey Kitchen Utensil Space Music DJ (I need to think of a better name for this!) seemed to be a big hit! Thanks to all of the parents and carers that were able to attend.
The Makey Makey card passes signals via any utensil/fruit/person and converts it to appear like a keyboard. Today, we had it wired up to kitchen utensils! On the PC some Scratch sofware was written to play sounds the P3s had recorded in the Music room, and display pictures of the planets as they “played” the instrument. The class were even able to make one big circuit by holding hands to play the music!
Lots of fun creating space scenes using pastels.
The space rocket challenge. Using paper straws, and anything else they could find, a great selection of rockets were made.
Using a LittleBit Synth Kit, the pupils were able to create a wild selection of electronic sounds and music.
Some of the class were keen to practice their Ukulele skills this morning as well.
