P7/6 – Weekly News

Yesterday P7 went to visit Broxburn Academy to try out VR.  We got to view different places such as Greenland’s glaciers, under the sea and the solar system.  It was really good.

We have been working on our gymnastic skills in P.E. We had the large frame out and tried to climb the rope.  Some of us are getting braver at using the horse, with many trying forward rolls on the horse.

We have been learning to calculate percentages of amounts.  Some of us have found this quite easy, and others would like a little more time to work on this.

We have been given a technology challenge to build Anderson shelters (well, models of them).  We are going to test to see if they are strong enough to handle some ‘rubble’ falling on them.

In literacy we have been focusing on Cloze Procedure.  This is when you get a passage with blank spaces and we need to fill in the missing words.  Most of us can manage to fit in the correct meaning and have found strategies to do this.

A wee reminder from Miss Sutherland – please can parent consultation slips please be returned as soon as possible. Thanks 🙂

Have a great weekend!
