This week we have continued learning about World War 2. We learned about evacuation and that millions of children had to leave their homes and families to live with strangers in the countryside. We all agreed that this must have been a difficult thing for them to do. Our writing focused on creating a diary entry from the perspective of an evacuee and using a variety of sentence openers.
In P.E. we continued with our gymnastics sessions indoors and we got to use lots of equipment which we found fun. We all practised our footballing skills on the MUGA during our outdoor P.E. slot.
In Maths, we have been continuing to learn about and use decimals. We have all been carrying out addition, subtraction, division and multiplication sums this week.
This week we were also joined by some P6s who were not going to Benmore. They were able to tell us some more interesting facts about what they had learned about their WW2 topic. We enjoyed having them in our class and hope the other P6 and P5s had a good time at Benmore.
Well done to Holly and Leah for reciting their poems at the Scots Poetry assembly this morning.
