What a fun week! On Monday we saw a fantastic pantomime performance by Primary 7. Well done to everyone involved! We also had a lovely Christmas party with games, dancing, a visit from Santa, gifts, and snacks. Today, the children sang beautifully at the Christmas church service.
With all of that going on, we still managed to learn all about some animals that live in the polar regions, such as polar bears, penguins, and seals. The children did a lovely job reading some fact files and writing down the most important information. We also read a fiction book about a penguin who comes to visit a little boy, called Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers, and then watched a short film based on the story. The children also wrote lovely Christmas-themed acrostic poems. In maths, we had a last look at 2D and 3D shapes and patterns, and we also made sure that our mental maths skills are still sharp by practising our number bonds to 20.
Next week, we have a workshop by the Dog’s Trust, a House Team event, and much more! It will be a busy three days before we begin our holidays on Thursday the 22nd. Have a lovely weekend.
I hope you enjoy the photos below of our class all dressed up for their Christmas party.
