The children have been talking about Bonfire night and creating beautiful pictures of the fireworks they saw. This links brilliantly with our new topic- The Night Sky.

          

We decided this was an interesting topic for learning as the children became inquisitive about the dark!

The children discussed things that came out in the night as we celebrated Halloween in the nursery and this then led to fab questions like:-

What animals come out at night?- Jonathan

Do animals come out at night while we are in our beds?- Jessica

Why do they come out at night and not when we are awake?- Andrew

Animals are maybe scared to come out in the day- Cali

The moon comes out at night- Arran

We can’t see in the dark- Oskar

We can use a torch or a light to help us see when it is dark- Torin
