This week Primary 1 have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. We learned about the festival, including rangoli patterns which are made from coloured sand on doorsteps. We also made mango lassi, a traditional Indian drink.

We also read the story of the Tiger Child, a traditional Indian tale. It tells the story of how cats began to live as pets with humans. We also made our own tiger masks. Roar!

This week we read Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. We wrote about who we would take on our own broom. On Friday we went out to the playground with our buddies to look for sticks and twigs them we made our own wands and brooms. We think they look great and we all worked really well with our buddies.
