The children have been working hard this week and enjoyed a visit from the PDSA! We have also been learning about farm animals and the role of the farmer. The children even drew their own farms! We also did a bit of drama, acting out the farm animals and making appropriate sounds and movements!
Next week is all about zoo animals and we will be learning about animals that live in the zoo, the role of a zoo keeper and will be creating fact files for zoo animals.
In Reading and Phonics P2 have been busy using their blending cubes and boards and P1 have started to blend to build and read simple words like cat, sat and tap! We learned our new sounds ‘a’ and ‘t’ this week and next week we will be learning ‘k’ and ‘ck’.
In Maths, P2 have been using a number line to count backwards to help them with subtraction within 10. This will continue next week. P1 have been counting and writing the numbers 0-10. Again we will continue with this and also begin to look at ‘one more’.
