It’s been a short week for the children but as always they were busy learning!
They learned their new sound ‘p’ and I’m sure they can tell you which part of the mouth they use to make the sound and if it’s a long stretchy sound or a short bouncy sound!
We were also learning to count to 10 in p1 and how to put the numbers in order by doing some dot to dot puzzles! P2 were impressing Mrs Stenhouse with their subtraction skills using a number line!
Next week we will be learning our new sounds ‘a’ and ‘t’. P2 will be looking at recognising the first sound in a word and doing some blending work. They will also continue with their Reading work.
In Maths P1 will be counting amounts and writing their numbers correctly. P2 will continue to use a number line to help them count backwards.
We are lucky to have the PDSA in school on Monday to talk to the children about some of the work they do. This fits in nicely to our animals topic. Next we are going to learn about animals on the farm and how they are looked after and by whom.
Thank you for helping the children with their home learning. I enjoy seeing all their hard work on a Wednesday! Please can you remember to tick and sign the sheet to show us which activities they have completed and use the book to record any work if requested. Thanks.
We still have a small number of children with no P.E. Kit in school. Please can you check they have both indoor and outdoor kit in school at all times. Thanks.
Mrs Stenhouse and Mrs McDonnell
