A busy week in P3

Its been another busy week in P3. The pupils put the finishing touches to the pictures of the characters from Flat Stanley and they are now up on the wall. Next step is to add descriptions for each character.

Inspired by Flat Stanley, the pupils in the class created a comic strip describing what they would do if they became invisible. Some imaginative ideas generated including eating lots of sweets in a shop, and “borrowing” their brothers laptop that they never get to use! They all demonstrated good story writing techniques and some great examples in the use of the “comic strip” medium.

Another area that demonstrated great discussion was the topic of travelling around the world. Each pupil will be given one landmark for their Flat Stanley to visit and we had a great chat about locations in the world and features of the Earth.

On a related subject, if any parents/carers have any friends/family in other countries of the world, it would be great if you could fill in and return the form with their contact details so the pupils can write a letter, and send Flat Stanley to visit! I have a few “backup” contacts, but it would be great if it was someone the pupils know.

The activities on Flat Stanley will take a week’s break as we celebrate Roald Dahl Day with lots of fun activities organised by Miss Brown.

A reminder that you are invited to “Meet the Teacher” this week on Wednesday. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet you all then.
