We’ve had a very busy week in primary 2 so far!
We started our new Topic all about animals. This week we were learning which animals we could have as pets and which ones we couldn’t. (apologies if any of the children come home asking for a bearded dragon!) The children were also thinking about how to look after a Guinea pig and a new puppy. Next week we are going to be learning about how animals can help humans and also learning about people who look after animals if they are Ill or don’t have a home.
In Maths, P2 have been continuing to consolidate adding within 10. This week we looked at missing number sums. We will continue this next week. Primary 1 were learning to write their numbers 1-10 using different resources. We are getting much better, but keep doing it at home too!
We learned the ‘m’ and ‘c’ sounds this week and Primary 1 enjoyed writing them in different ways. They will be able to tell you which part of the mouth we use to make the sounds and what colour we write them in! Primary 2 were using these sounds to make words and were also listening to see if the sound came at the beginning or end of a word. Next week we will be learning the ‘s’ and ‘a’ sounds.
Homework is now up and running. The dates for home learning are on the sheet and any Reading homework will be on their Reading Record.
If you haven’t already done so, could you ensure your child has an indoor and outdoor P.E. Kit in school in a labelled bag. Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you at our Meet the Teacher event next week.
