Primary 2/1 had a great week settling into their new classroom and getting to know each other. The P2 children have done a great job helping the new P1 children.
We were learning about colour this week as a mini topic and the children learned all about Primary and Secondary colours, how to mix colours and even went on a colour hunt!(We also went on a colour hunt in French!)
Primary 2 have been working hard consolidating their adding within 10 and P1 have been learning to count from 0-10.
Next week we will all be starting Phonics work and will be learning ‘m’ and ‘c’ sounds. P2 will also be doing some work building with these sounds.
In Maths, P2 will continue to add within 10 and P1 will be counting and writing their numbers from 0-10.
We are also starting our new topic, animals. This week we will be learning about animals that can be kept as pets.
I am very proud of how the class have settled into their new routines and am excited for the year ahead!
