What a quick first week back we have had! It sounds as though everybody had a great Easter holiday and now we’re back and ready for our last term before we become big P7s!
This term our Learning Across the Curriculum topic will be the Scottish Parliament. We will be practising our debating skills, perfecting our persuasive writing and carrying out a mock election. We will learn a little about the history of the parliament and why it is so important to use our votes when we are older. We will be learning about the role of an MSP as well as what happens during an election. We are very lucky to have a visit to the parliament booked – which includes a handling session, a tour and tickets to watch the MSPs debate.
This week we have been learning about electricity – why don’t you ask us about it? We can even tell you all about atoms and how ‘free electrons’ create an electric current. We will be extending our knowledge of circuits to include both parallel and series circuits.
We were very excited to find out that we would be doing some computer coding this term! We will be doing this through a program called Scratch – and we will hopefully be developing some simple games of our own. Scratch is accessible from home, so we can show you how to use it too! If you fancy trying something different, look at another program called Python.
Have a great weekend!
