If you looked up into the sky last night you might have seen the amazing ‘Super Pink Moon’. It was the biggest moon of the year and although the moon doesn’t actually change size it just looks bigger and brighter when it is closest to the earth. (Fact – The term ‘pink moon’ doesn’t actually refer to its colour but as it is the first full moon of spring it is named after pink flowers called wild ground phlox which bloom at this time.)<\/p>\n

Studying the different shapes of the moon can be fascinating and I have added a\u00a0\u00a0moon journal<\/a> that you can use to record the different phases of the moon over the next month. If you don’t have a printer, don’t worry, you can just date and draw a picture of the shape of the moon in your jotter or paper.<\/p>\n
