Straw javelin throw
Resources: straws and plastic bowls.
1. Place a number of bowls out in a straight line.
2. Encourage your child to throw the straw into the bowls that have been placed out.
3. Have a competition between children and parents/ carers to see how can throw the straw into the furthest away bowl.

Build and design a flag

Possible resources: straws, sticks, fabric, cardboard, paint, paintbrushes, glitter paint, glue, markers, pencils.

1. Pick a country that takes part in the Olympics flag to make.
2. Cut out the shapes needed for the flag or draw the outline of the flag.
3. Glue the shapes onto the flag or color the flag.
4. Glue a straw or stick as a flag pole on the edge of the flag.
