We take part in Number Talks every day. We have been learning to count forwards and backwards in decades using a 100 square. We know that the most efficient strategy is to count in tens.<\/p>\n

Article 13: We have the right to find out things and share what we think with others.<\/p>\n

Article 29: We have the right to develop our talents and abilities.<\/p>\n

This was our Learning Intention for Number Talks. We always link our learning to the UNCRC.<\/p>\n

“30 less than 102 is 72. I counted back in tens.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“2o less than 76 is 56. You could count back in ones but it would take too long. The quickest strategy is to count back in tens.”<\/a><\/p>\n

“40 less than 101 is 61. I counted back four which is the same as counting back four tens.”<\/p>\n

“60 less than 88 is 28. I wouldn’t count back in ones because that would take ages. I counted back in tens. I counted back six tens.”<\/p>\n

During our last week of Term 1, we engaged in Art which provided us with the opportunity to unleash our creativity. We each received a piece of paper with a black round sticker places somewhere on the page. We had a great discussion about what the sticker could represent and we used our ideas to create our own pictures. Have a look at some of our wonderful creations.<\/p>\n
