We don\u2019t want them to miss out on this fun event and so for this week\u2019s Fun Learning at Home we are suggesting they have their own safe one at home with family. Please take photos and share with us on Home Learning in Learning Journals, stating whether you mind us sharing your photos or not on our nursery blog.<\/p>\n<p>Sports Day supports and encourages many Health and Wellbeing learning opportunities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Moving at different speeds, levels and directions with others in a designated space.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Sustaining energetic levels of play\/activity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Practising different ways of being active.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Staying on task that may seem challenging, to achieve successes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Building eye\/hand and eye\/foot co-ordination.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Sharing and co-operating when interacting with others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Learning how to be a good winner and cope appropriately with losing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Nursery Ladies have been working hard, practising and demonstrating fun activities for you to try at home. Please find below easy to follow instructions with photo demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Bean bag race &#8211; <\/u><\/strong>If you don\u2019t have a bean bag (like me!) take a pair of socks &amp; fold them into a ball.\u00a0Place the rolled-up socks onto your head and either race a parent\/sibling around your garden or see how far you can walk around your garden before it falls of your head! Before the race begins, the driver picks up the wheelbarrows ankles and the wheelbarrow lifts themselves onto their hands. Then&#8230;.. Ready, Steady, GO! My little girl chose to start at one side of the garden, run to the end and back to the start. One person can use the stopwatch on their phone to time how fast each member of your family takes to run and see who is the fastest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/eastcalderprimary\/files\/2020\/06\/cara.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-21410\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/eastcalderprimary\/files\/2020\/06\/cara.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/eastcalderprimary\/files\/2020\/06\/cara-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-21409\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/eastcalderprimary\/files\/2020\/06\/cara-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"177\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Dribbling\u00a0&#8211;<\/u><\/strong> You will need a ball and some cones or substitute cones (I have used bottles from the recycling) and filled them with water making them heavier, so they don\u2019t fall over. Count how many times you can make it bounce. Can you show that number? (a grown up might have to help with this bit). Competitors must hold the spoon by the handle and NOT hold\/touch\/secure the egg!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"float: none;background-color: #ffffff;color: #333333;cursor: text;font-family: 'Libre Franklin','Helvetica Neue',helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 16px;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;text-align: left;text-decoration: none;text-indent: 0px;text-transform: none\">The competitors line up at the starting line and when they are told to &#8220;go&#8221; they run as fast as they can without dropping the egg\/ball. If the egg drops and breaks, they are out\/ if the ball falls off the spoon, they can put it back on the spoon and begin to run again towards the finishing line. Set a marker to where you are going to run to, tie your legs together and get ready to GO! If there is more than 1 team you can race each other, and the winners are the team that reaches the finish marker first. If there is only 1 team you could time yourself and see how fast you can do it.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"float: none;background-color: #ffffff;color: #333333;cursor: text;font-family: 'Libre Franklin','Helvetica Neue',helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 16px;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;text-align: left;text-decoration: none;text-indent: 0px;text-transform: none\">You will need to work as a team to make sure you move your legs at the same time, or you might fall!
