P5 spent a lot of time outside this week!<\/p>\n
We have been out for PE this week and have also had outdoor learning.<\/p>\n
Lily-Ellen \u2013 We looked at the fruit trees we had planted to see how they were getting on.<\/p>\n
Sofia \u2013 I enjoyed measuring outside in order to work out the volume of different objects.<\/p>\n
Topic<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n We went outside to use chalk and drew different dinosaurs.<\/p>\n Alexis \u2013 I was proud of how my dinosaur turned out.<\/p>\n Numeracy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n We have been learning how to use the short division method to divide larger numbers \u2013 we also call it the bus stop method!<\/p>\n Sara – We use this method for larger numbers.<\/p>\n Today we used the laptops and practised our division facts.<\/p>\n Literacy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n We have learnt how to summarise a text and although it was difficult at first we have improved our ability to do this.<\/p>\n We learnt how to write an explanation text this week. This genre is going to be our new focus over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n Science – Floating and Sinking<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Bella \u2013 It was fun and interesting to see if things float or sink.
