{"id":3945,"date":"2022-09-09T08:46:01","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T07:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/calderwood\/?p=3945"},"modified":"2022-09-09T08:54:38","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T07:54:38","slug":"ordering-lunch-for-a-child-with-allergies-in-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/calderwood\/2022\/09\/09\/ordering-lunch-for-a-child-with-allergies-in-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Ordering Lunch for a Child with Allergies in School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Communicating your child&#8217;s allergy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If your child has an allergy you should communicate this through email to the school office.<\/li>\n<li>Appropriate forms will then be provided to the parent e.g. medication form, individual healthcare plan and flowchart<\/li>\n<li>If required, a &#8216;free from&#8217; menu \/ individual menu will be provided to the parent<\/li>\n<li>Individual children&#8217;s allergies are then shared on a poster with their photo, name and allergens with the child&#8217;s champion and in the kitchen<\/li>\n<li>Any medication and flow charts are stored in the child&#8217;s classroom\/first aid room (if appropriate)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ordering lunch for your child:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On iPay, you should then click &#8216;special diet&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>This information is shared with the kitchen who prepare the appropriate meal (from their menu if appropriate) for your child and their meal will be labelled with their name<\/li>\n<li>Your child&#8217;s champion will give your child a purple band indicating they have a special diet (purple bands on order)<\/li>\n<li>At lunchtime your child will give the kitchen champions a purple band and use the allergy poster to provide your child with their meal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Communicating your child&#8217;s allergy: If your child has an allergy you should communicate this through email to the school office.
